I've heard of the Puta tree pepper. Don't know anything about them though. 
Remember someone saying the peppers tasted like fusil oil. (whatever that is)

Fruits look like nymphs du pave, I'll bet.  Laughs aside, I'll bet this is 
a typographical error, the "tree" originally called a "puya" because some 
gringo didn't know "pulla" was spelled that way, then the t for y 
substitution.  Margaret L
