In the same vein, I just bought a jar of Bobby Flay's Tomatillo Smoked Chile
Salsa (on sale at Lechter's - they are going out of business - everything
15-30% off). I was reading the ingredients on the back of the jar and they
include dried seasonings - including jalapeno powder. I know why they use
dried seasonings - to make it more economical to make the stuff. But...the
flavor of dried seasonings are marginal at best. Why not put fresh jalapeno,
fresh onions, fresh garlic. Wouldn't the taste be better? Yikes.

I will taste it in the next couple of days. I also bought some fresh
tomatillos at Wegman's. Immediately roasted them when I came home. Now I can
make fresh tomatillo salsa whenever the mood hits me. I needed a jar of
tomatillo salsa for my dinner last night. Had to make dinner immediately
when walking in the door and didn't have 2 hours to make dinner and eat.

Jalapeno powder is the 2nd to last ingredient. Chipotle peppers are the 5th
ingredient. We'll see how it tastes.
