This post is a little late, but did want to comment on the Florida Fiery
Foods Show. It was in late Oct. in St. Petersburg at the Bayfront Center.
My wife Nancy & I attended on Sunday, the last day of the show. We had last
attended the show in 1999 when it was in Tampa at the Convention Center.
There didn't seem to be as many vendors as in 1999, probably only about
50-60. It didn't take long to get my heat level up and the sweat rolling off

my neck. Lots of good sauces and I came home with about a dozen new ones to
try along with some of my favorites. I should be stocked for a while! Chip
Welsh of Red Lion gave me a jar of his Chili Base to try. Had it for dinner
a few weeks later and it turned out great. I added 1 lb. of ground turkey
(cooked), 2 cans of pinto beans and 2 cans of my homemade vegetable stock. I

use a recipe in the "Jump Up and Kiss Me" cookbook and it makes an awesome
stock. Really makes the chili flavorful. The heat is a little milder than I

would normally make but it can be ratcheted up by one of my hot sauces.
