My wife has had some luck beating them off of her violates.  Believe it or
not, LYSOL(r) Disinfectant Spray (the spray can).  It did some damage, but
saved the plants.  I would think that you may be able to do this early in
the infestation, after the plant has matured from seedling and before
flowers.  They also have a soap for such little pest, but I don't remember
the name.  The soap sticks around and keeps them from coming back.  Hey,
there is also a guy who does a mixture of tabaco juice and other stuff (all
natural, but disgusting) to get rid of bugs.  Does anybody remember the guys
name?  If not, I may still have a book of his at home.  He had mixtures for
all sorts of stuff.  Maybe that would work.
