Yes it was! It was great to finally meet so many people I 'knew' in
person! I'll third the recommendation on the 'Respect Your Elderberry'
sauce from Bob Farr, though I also like the Basilicious Salsa as well.
My steak was almost as excellent as the company. It was also fun
showing the wait staff that, despite being their thinking otherwise,
they really didn't know what 'hot' was all about ;-)
I'd hoped everyone could forgive my bloodshot eyes- even before the
wine! I'd been up all night at the firehouse, drove through an ice
storm, and then pea-soup fog before arriving there. God was smiling on
me though as there was a reasonably priced hotel in the same parking lot
as the restaraunt! I wasn't trying to be coy about attending- I
honestly didn't know if I'd be able to make it there or not.
It looks like I'll be out in DC a few more times this year so I'd be all
in favor of another gathering. It was great to have something FUN to do
on a trip that was otherwise pretty depressing :-) The same will be
true for the upcoming trips as well.
