[CH] Ottawa Hot Spots?

I'll be in Ottawa, Canada, next week and I'm wondering if there's any good
hot spots.  I'll be staying near York St. and Dalhousie.  I don't think I'll
have a car because the hotel is walking distance from the company I'll be
visiting.

It's off topic for this list, but I'd also like to visit a good brew pub or
two, if there are any nearby.  I hope the restaurants there have more than
just French wine and cheap pilsners for beverages.  If only there were a
brew pub with a chile-head menu, somewhere on this planet.

Also, has anyone had any trouble getting in and out of Canada lately, via
airport?  I've never had a passport, lost my Social Security card, not sure
if I can find my birth certificate, etc.  All I have is a drivers license.
