Hi Pods,

Allow me to share a personal favorite. A recipe for soup. Here it goes:

Miguel's Bananasoup

Ingredients:

3 eddoes/ red bud taro root, peeled and cut into cubes
2 white sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into cubes
1 cassava, peeled and cut into cubes
2 plantains/ platanos, as black as possible, cut into slices and then halved
1 can of whole kernel corn
1/2 pound ground beef
1 Madame Jeanette chile pepper
vegetable soup, dried or already made vegetable soup
salt
pepper

Take about 1 or 2 liters of vegetable soup no matter how you made it.

Take the ground beef and season it with salt and pepper and roll it into
little balls. Let them get done in the soup.

Take the eddoes, sweet potatoes, cassava and the plantains and add them to
the soup

Add a whole can of corn.

Take a Madame Jeanette pepper and with a tooth pick stick a hole in it and
put it in the soup.

Cook until the ingredients are soft and cooked. About an hour and a half.

This is a nice and spicy soup. Originally it was made with goat meat and a
piece of marrow but I try to keep it simple and use ground beef to
substitute it. Be sure when you substitute the chile pepper that it's a
fruity tasting pepper or the soup won't be as great tasting. You can't
really use plain bananas since they will get too mushy when cooked.

Enjoy!
