Just to clarify,

"Mayam" is supposed to be Ayam, which means chicken (what can I say, my wife 
is Malaysian)

Assam can mean 'sour', but it is also the word for Tamarind, when placed 
before the word 'Jawa'. (not to be confused with the little brown cloak 
wearing critters from Tatooine)
