I'm from Portugal, will that do?

Growing chiles in the south, the Algarve, which is the most westerly point
of Continental Europe.
Ideal chile growing climate with sun almost all year round equivalent to
your Zone 14.
I have found very few chile heads around these parts, though, as we have
been heavily colonized by Brits (bland) and Germans (sausages also bland).
Frango (chicken) piri piri is the most famous local dish and it's pretty
good, although you have to ask them to make it hotter than most tourists
care for.

Wish I could be at Open Fields: if it was held here though, it wouldn't be
until November. I'm often picking red chiles - and even some green ones -
for Christmas. January storms take care of many sadly, as we are very close
to the sea.

all the best from the Algarve where the sun always shines (except today it's
raining)
