I have a purira pepper plant that I grew from seeds from Seeds of Change.

I would like to know more about this pepper. I've looked on the internet and
sometimes it's referred to as Capsicum frutescens (usually) but sometimes
Capsicum anuum. So, which species is it?

Also, there seems to be little information about the origin of this pepper.
A couple websites mention that it's from South America but don't mention any
more details (for example, which country). Does anyone know the origin or
history of this pepper?

If it is C. frutescens, then it's related to tabasco and malagueta peppers,
right? How does this pepper compare to those?

Thanks.
