delurking for the first time, but i couldn't let this go by without a comment. when in colorado some years ago, we had a huge crop of apples one year, i made a ton of apple jelly and added red chiles (dried flakes) while boiling and that was the most delicious jelly ever. try it . o.k. back to lurking mode
