   Sheets will work fine.  They are usually heavier
than Remay (spun polyester row cover) so be sure you
don't hang more weight on the plants than they can bear.
Adding heat under the sheet will help.  One way is
to place gallon milk jugs (or 2 liter soda bottles) full
of hot water under the sheets.  Use water as hot as
the container will handle and set them out as late as
possible so the heat lasts longer.  This has worked
for me as a short term solution in the past.
