Happy New Year folks!
Black-eyed peas 'n rice with chiles ... yowsa!
The New York Times has a good article on "Hoppin' John", a dish that
brings Good Luck (apparently) when eaten on NY's Day.
i suggest that, adding some chiles to whatever recipe you make oughta
double the good luck quotient!

from the item:
"It's not too late. Hoppin' John — the pre-eminent rice and pea dish of
the Western world, a nutritional marvel, the culinary touchstone of the
African diaspora and a hangover remedy without equal — needs only
a few hours of prep and can be on your table by this very evening."
