I was there for a year for language training in the early 80's.  San Antonio is
one of my favorite cities in the world!

My Army unit had its own mess hall at Lackland.  It was run by a Mexican
family.  They introduced this Midwestern boy to the magic of chiles.  ¡Gracias! 
I also learned a new word:  fajita.  I saw it everywhere away from the tourist
traps.  Seems like a million mom and pop operations selling fajitas.
