My Dad used to say go with the flow. Carlsbad has millions of russian squirrels. He went to the feed store and bought "squirrel food". Then put out the food and fed them all around his garden.(1/2 acre) It worked. They liked the food better than his garden and didn't touch it again. Sounds silly, but it worked for my Dad.
