I was hoping to get to Bowers by 1:30 today but we ended up getting to the farm - Meadow View Farm - at 1:45. We decided to stay there and go in the farmers market for awhile. I got my powders and then we waited an extraordinarily long time for the horse ride to the festival itself. Once there, at 2:15, we were welcomed by all chile-heads - Doug, Andy, Alex (who took a picture of me with Doug), Karen, her dad, Mark, his brother, and a few other folks. I hung out at Doug's booth for awhile and then I went around looking at stuff. It was great to see everyone. I haven't seen Andy in a long time. I was glad he was well enough to come to the festival. I got to meet his lovely wife too. First time. I bought a t-shirt, 2 bottles of hot sauce, a thing of dip mix, and a few things to eat. The weather was perfect. Incredibly wonderful - warm but not too warm. No wind. No rain. Happy was I. At the farm, Trevor and I picked tomatoes and chiles - 12 varieties. Came home and made an heirloom tomato salad with 5 kinds of tomatoes, and Jim's Hoosier Habanero cheese. Yummy. I'm a happy Chile-Head. I got to see all my chile-head pals, hang out, drink vodka lemon drops and talk. Only one disappointment - the food was not particularly hot at the festival this year. I had cheesecake that had some chile in it and it was disappointing. I missed Doug's evil sausage but I brought him a calzone with it in there. Karen and Doug got to enjoy a bit of it. I had a ball. Thanks to all who made it that way. To bed I go - zzzzzzzzz RisaG __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
