Well.....

Jim Campbell posted about his substandard harvest, and fortunately, we paid
no attention and went anyway. It would be an understatement to say that
there were plenty of peppers for everyone there. And there were plenty of
good times, good food, and good drink too.

I picked waaaaaaaay more peppers than I could stuff into my backpack for my
flight home to New York, but I did take a select not-so-few, and Jose C.
promised to send me the rest.

The select not-so-few, which consisted mostly of some candy-sweet
plum-tomato-sized thin-skinned red peppers (peperoncini, I think), and some
two-inch long bright-orange not-blisteringly-hot Aji-types, became fodder
for experiments. First, I threw the Ajis along with some assorted Chinenses
and medium red not-so-hots I had lying around into the Cuisinart to make a
mash base. Then, I roasted off the peperocini with some olive oil, then
whizzed them up (in the preheated Cuisinart!) with some garlic, pine nuts,
and basil to be used as a spread.

I have no idea what I'm going to do with the huge box of peppers I should
be getting in the mail in a few days.....I'm counting on some good
inspiration to hit me when they arrive.

Thank you once again, Jim, for hosting such a delightful event.

Cheers,
Alex
