This was tonight's dinner - Crockpot Ribs. Actually I
seared them on the stovetop cast iron grill and then
put them in the crockpot with some tomato juice. Let
them cook on LOW for 1 hour, then I brushed them with
bbq sauce, let them cook another hour.

Unbelievably good. To make them much hotter than I
made them, use a very hot rub and some really hot
sauce, such as the Red Savina Garlic Sauce (which I
dunked the ribs into). Really good with that sauce!

A recipe to play around with. So many different sauces
or rubs you can use. Finger-licking good!!

-------- ------------
--------------------------------
   1 rack pork spareribs
                        rib rub seasoning mixture
   1 cup tomato juice
2 cups barbecue sauce -- * see note

Preheat a stovetop cast iron grill.

Half an hour before that, rub the ribs with some rib
rub (or your favorite seasoning blend). Let it sit
while the grill is heating up.

When hot, spray the ribs with canola oil spray or corn
oil spray and then place on the hot grill. Sear it on
both sides.

Put tomato juice in the bottom of the crockpot, then
top with the rack of ribs. Cover and cook on LOW for 2
hours. 1/2 hr before you are finished, brush with
barbecue sauce, all over. Let cook until falling off
the bones.

NOTES : Risa's notes:

* I made my own sugar-free barbecue sauce but you can
buy it - Walden Farms makes it, also Atkins and other
low carb food companies. If you can't find any, then
use Atkins Ketchup and season it with some chile
powder (pure preferred - none of the commercial stuff
with cumin and other seasonings in it).

The way to really heat these up is to use a very hot
rub seasoning and a hot sauce that has red savina or
habanero in it.

3.4g carbo per serving (2-3 ribs depending on size)
