Me too. But I just read in one of John Jeavons' books that putting
stinging nettles (_Urtica dioica_) in a compost pile speeds up
breakdown considerably. I don't know if the dried ones work,
but it might be worth a try; they're cheap in bulk, and they don't
sting.
(They're also exceptionally nutritious and can help men avoid
prostate problems and women avoid menopausal symptoms.
Cooked or made into a broth or infusion, they taste like young,
mild spinach.)
