We've had an explosion of good ethnic restaurants in the last five years or 
less, you should be able to find a lot.  What part of town will you be in?  
You should easily be able to find good Mexican and Asian, and there's 
various other general categories like good Greek, Indian, even some African.

IMHO the best glass of beer is at Barley's, either downtown or at their 
smokehouse on Riverside Drive.  Plus, if you go to the downtown location, 
you can step out the back door and over to the North Market, where you can 
browse a good part of CaJohn's sauce and spice collection, at the 
gift-basket-maker's shop by the cheesemonger.
