Got this from the list that keeps me updated on Chilli Cook-off results. I know there are several people here who might be interested. Of course it is late and vendors have only finite bucks/time to attend shows, etc. But, Jim, John, Dave, etc. if you are interested the ICS group is not the same bunch of chile-heads who hit the Scovies and Firey Foods, etc. And the ICS World Champeenships do draw a _LOT_ of sweaty bodies. And a goodly amount of exposure on TVFN. “FIREFEST” – THE NEWEST HOT AND SPICY SHOW The ICS is seeking vendors to participate in the country's hottest “new” vendor/sampling show being held in Las Vegas at the exclusive Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, October 22-24, 2004. The FIREFEST pavilion will be a feature attraction during the 38TH ANNUAL WORLD’S CHAMPIONSHIP CHILI COOKOFF. If you know of any “spicy” vendor of food or hard goods, email ICS at firefestics@aol.com and a representative will be in contact. Please, do NOT phone the ICS office. Summary: After three years in Reno, the World’s Championship Chili Cookoff grew from a three-block site with 18,000 in attendance to span seven blocks with a crowd of approximately 45,000 in 2003. This year ICS was invited by the prestigious Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino to hold the Championship in Las Vegas and kick off the Professional Bull Riding World Finals beginning that weekend at Mandalay Bay’s Events Center. The 25,000-35,000 expected attendance will be entertained by live bands, showmanship teams, Miss Chili Pepper & Mr. Hot Sauce contests, the World’s Championship Chili Eating contest and our own FIREFEST vendor zone featuring hot-n-spicy sampling and sales booths. The cookoff and FIREFEST will occupy a football field size area. The outdoor cooking events will transition inside to the PBR (Professional Bull Rider’s) 400,000 Sq. Ft. family oriented Party/ Fan Zone including vendor booths with everything Western from upscale furniture, clothing, jewelry, beverages, etc. to meet and greets with the bull riders. Last years Zone was a sellout and PBR expects the same this year. An extensive media campaign has already begun via the following web sites: International Chili Society (http://www.chilicookoff.com/ ), Professional Bull Riders (http://www.pbrnow.com/) and Mandalay Bay (http://www.mandalaybay.com/). FIREFEST offers an excellent opportunity to tap into a diverse, but fiery food-focused audience with time and money to spare. Several hundred cooks, VIPS, over 300 judges plus the general public will attend this event with an expectation and desire to find anything hot and spicy The complete vendor packet will be available in two weeks, but if you are interested in receiving one as soon as possible, please respond to this email at: mailto:icsfirefest@aol.com. Provide your mailing address to ensure delivery of the packet. Thanks for any help or leads you can provide. -- ENJOY!!!
