I'll copy this to the list, though if you're already on it probably doesn't matter as much. >I've gotten several requests from longtime list members who are trying >to get back on. I know there has been a lot of difficulty with trying >to subscribe lately. > >Can someone please e-mail me (off list) and let me know what the latest >tricks are to getting back on? I've had them follow the e-mail >directions that Mike sent out as of March 2004. They get the >confirmation on the subscribe but when they try to send it back as >directed, it returns as undeliverable. > the majordomo@globalgarden address is useless due to excessive spam (it tries to make sense of the email, and tries to send back help). All subscription/unsubscription requests should be sent to chile-heads-request@globalgarden.com or chile-heads-digest-request@globalgarden.com for the digest. All authorizations should be sent to the same address -- not to majordomo as the message says (I'm trying to get that message changed, but it takes some time). Another problems is that all bounces and requests sent to owner-chile-heads end up in a mailbox that gets 1000-1200 spams a day. I've got filters cranked way down to deal with this, but I still miss some messages. I generally check the missed (marked spam) messages once a week or so (yes, 7-10,000 messages). The good point is that I haven't seen any of this spam on the list (there are about 300-400/day aimed at the list that are rejected - again back to my owner-chile-heads mailbox).
