[CH] Whalen Clan on the Move Again!

Friends and Fellow Heat Seekers,
Many of you don't remember me since I don't post on this list very often.
Seems like I post about every two or three years when I get ready to move.
Well it is that time again. My wife, daughter and myself are relocating to
the Fairfax Virginia area, just outside of Washington, DC. The company I
work for, Rainforest Café, which is owned by Landry's Restaurants, has
promoted me to Executive Chef of the Tysons Corner Unit.
So we leave Galveston, TX on Tuesday November 2nd, and should arrive on
November 5th in Virginia. We have found one Thai restaurant, Nishei Thai,
with outstanding and affordable food, which is located at the mall
conveniently just outside the back door of the Rainforest. We are looking
for other restaurants and stores in the area that can provide us with an
ample supply of foods and spices to satisfy our tastebuds.
Anyone have any ideas for great restaurants? Any great shops or stores
where we can purchase spicey items or perhaps a good Asian Market?
I don't know how many ChileHeads are in the area, but if there is any
interest we could do a Hot Luck sometime.
