Hello From Virginia, Man, what a ride it has been. We loaded the truck in between torrential downpours, and finished up the next morning, just before we got in the truck and hit the road. The day we left Texas, was of course Election Day. When we arrived in Baton Rouge, we checked the news very carefully for the news we were hoping for, a Bush Win! Wednesday was our long day, covering 798 miles from Baton Rouge to Knoxville, TN. The Bush win fueled us as we stopped at mid-day to hear Kerry concede, and grab some grub at a truck stop. Thursday we drove in the rain all day long. That night we arrived in Falls Church, VA and stayed at our hotel. Effy and Jessa were just real troopers the whole way. Effy took care of entertainment and feedings for Jessa and myself. Jessa slept most of the time and when she was awake she was a great co-pilot. This past Tuesday we moved into our new apartment. Effy has made a few friends and we even found a great little Filipino store a few miles down the road towards Washington. Great Food by the way. Today was my day off, so we spent most of the day running errands and getting some things we need for the apartment. Tonight we set-up the office and hooked up the computer. The apartment is taking shape and I have to thank the two ladies of the house for doing the lion's share. Well enough for now. I have to be at work by 5am to do inventory. Take care and God Bless! John, Effy and Jessa Whalen
