I've been meaning to post this story for months and I keep forgetting!
Anwyay, last winter, people from this TV show contacted me and wanted me
to be on their show. At first I thought it was just a friend playing a
joke on me but soon disovered they were serious and it was a real TV show.
They said they were looking for a female farmer from the Midwest and
thought my being a chile farmer made a nice twist. I think they had a
misguided notion of the scale of my operation. Calling me a farmer is a
little grand, more like a farmerette maybe. Anyway, I declined (although
you get $50,000. Thats a lot of baby money!). I watched the show to see
what it was like and they really make people look weird. I can only
imagine how odd Terry and I would have come off. Okay, we are a little odd
anyway, but I got the feeling they would have played up the pepper angle,
and make the chilehead world look like a bunch of kooks. I wonder if they
are still searching for their female Midwestern farmer....
