just back from a trip to the korean market...went to pick up a bottle of sriracha sauce, got out only spending $30... several old friends, one new product, and one that i have become addicted to... mary-anne (where are you mary-anne?) introduced me to thai eggplant, grape size eggplant that are a staple in the far east...this is a thai product, apparently for the viet nam market, since there is no thai writing on it, only vietnamese and english... it's called "fish sauce with chili egg plants" and in vietnamese, "huong vi que huong ca mam", which means "fish sauce with chili egg plants"...toss them into a salad, into a stir fry, good stuff...and yeah, it smells like fish sauce, but don't let that stop you...it tastes fantastic...16 oz. $2.39... the new product (as yet untasted) is "por kwan chilli paste with holy basil", another thai product with label in english and thai...interesting in that it is the first product i've seen that lists the percentage of the ingredients...(32% red chillis, 27% holy basil, 14% garlic and some other stuff...no preservatives or strange chemicals...web site: www.nrinstant.com...i first thought it was 'mr. instant'...some interesting stuff, and most of it is close to instant...like they say on the site, "For flying with rice, rice noodles, vegetables and all kinds of meat. 8 oz. $2.19... -- knoxbill [note: new email address] The answers to life's problems aren't at the bottom of a bottle, they're on TV! ~ Homer Simpson
