Every Labor Day weekend in Columbus, the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church
has its annual Greek Festival. I am not Greek, but my last name ends in -is
... anyway, in the spirit of trying something new, I ordered some saganaki
without even knowing what it is. It is a fried slice of cheese, doused at
the end with Metaxa for a flaming presentation. In this case it also came
with 4 olives and 4 brined green peppers.

*tiny voice* wasn't really worth $6.00

Anyway, I was packing a jar or Jim C's red habanero flakes (from Spicefest)
which I flashed at the cook, saying I was going to have Nagasaki Saganaki.
He laughed. But I wasn't bluffing!

Folks, you should have seen the whole lamb carcass turining on a spit. I
could smell it a block away. The festival runs through Monday, so I will be
back!

Opa! And 7-star Metaxa for me (at home, they didn't have it at the
festival)
