[CH] Open Fields- a hitch in the plans

In the interest of full disclosure, unaware of how this might affect
plans for folks:

I've been notified that there is the distinct possibility that I may be
deployed down south to help out. I won't know more until late next
week. I stand a good chance of missing the Houston Hot Sauce Festival
as well the open fields.

It has already been demonstrated that the event goes on just fine
without me- don't let that change your plans. There are more than
enough 'old timers' there that can show folks the ropes.

For those of you that might have been coming out here based solely on
the chance to meet me, you *REALLY* ought to set your standards higher
:-)

For those wishing to pick stuff up, my wife will MORE than fill in for
me as the 'evil corporate type'. She does it even better than me,
greedy wench that she is :-) There is still room at the house for those
that needed it. One less wino may be there now to hog the spirits ;-)

Spent some time in the fields today. They're actually looking pretty
good, though there aren't many ripe chiles yet. The John T's are
looking spectacular and the DeLaReina's are also looking great. Lots of
chiles should be available.

Alex S now stands the chance of having been at TWO more open fields than
me :-)
