I have tried repeatedly to grow NM chiles here in Atlanta, and never with more than moderate success. My other chiles always do very well, but the NM chiles don't tend to produce much and the ones that I get are not nearly as good as what I used to get in NM. Maybe it's me, maybe it's the climate, but I've never had much luck. Matt >>Snip One thing I have always wondered about... Potassium A few years ago Dave Dewitt and Dr Bosland gave me the address to a Dr Flynn, an agronomist and extension advisor for NMSU It appears the NM soil is very high in potassium, to the point that they suggest a fertilizer w/o potassium and do not use wood ash in the garden Extension Sheets H159 and H160 I am also aware that excessive wood ash in the garden will burn your plants. What eludes me is the PPM of potassium that's great for chiles and the point of killing plants. L.B.
