I just use $10 heating pads from the drugstore -- you know, the kind
that you use for your back after working in the garden all day. The
kind at my local drugstore has three settings -- low, medium, and
high. I suppose you could go through an exercise with a seed tray
full of soil and an instant read thermometer to determine the optimum
setting, but I always found that the medium setting worked for me --
no germination problems at all.
