[CH] horseradish and pickles

One important thing  -- you can olny dig horseradish in months that have an
'r' in them.  Yeah -- the old Germans from Russia like the horseradish -- 
but can't take chiles.

To those of you that sent the recipes/tips for the jalapeno pickles,
thanks -- I experimented with two pints. Put two grape leaves and one-eighth
teaspoon alum in each pint.  Did the up-side down pasteurizing thing for 5
minutes -- bot jars sealed.  Had them barely done when the tornado siren
went off - no damage but we finally had 2.25 inches of rain. (5 cm for the
metric folks)

Sure is naice to see the list active again.
