Yahoo removed chat and "Blessed"  the group owners with a "Spam Filter"

The Spam Filter is not needed when the group has a restricted membership  and only members can post.

Of the groups I own/co-own  the spam filter caught one of my co-owners  and thats all.

file section, calendar and lots more features.  They no longer have a chat 
function; can't remember why they said they removed it but probably due to 
abuse.

Just my two cents, which is often worth considerably less.
