The Friday hot luck was fun, as usual. This was our 6th year, we're starting to feel like regulars! Shared time with old friends and made some new ones. We ate way too much, all the good food alone is worth the trip. That's the kind of feast you will never find in a resturant. The smoker out front was full of wonderful pork. We drank Steve out of the last of his Cherry-apple cider. Good stuff!. A lot of bottles of wine were emptied along the way, too. Bill's bread, Alex's smoked salmon and Steve's pulled pork stood out. Jim's mac and cheese showed chipotle goes with almost anything. We call it our "trip to meet spring on its way North". The trees in flower and all the greenery and flowers won't be up here for a couple of weeks yet. The Fiery Foods Show Saturday was a bit slow, bad weather cut attendance, but we enjoyed it anyway. The band was good, nice sound and friendly folks. Madison is a great town to play tourist in. We may just drop back for the Ribberfest this summer. Thanks to Steve & Elizabeth Thomas of Thomas Family Winery and Jim and Abby Campbell of Mild to Wild Pepper & Herb Company for sponsoring the event. Hobby Farmer
