I'm in zone 5.  Slow growers have been in for 4 weeks - Bhuts, Morichs, 
Red Savina, Congos, Tepins, some of the eggplants, herbs and artichokes 
are in, too. The rest of the peppers and eggplant and cole crops will go 
in next week, the tomatoes the week after.

We live right next to Lake Michigan, so we warm up a bit slowly.  
Peppers and tomatoes go in the first week of June.
