Hi,

I would suggest you try out the Stihl Yard Boss. I have this and it is
wonderful. Mine is easy to start, and easy to handle. Its ergonomic design is
a little weird looking, and I resisted buying it for that reason, but my
husband was sold by the fact that local servicing and repair is easily
available, where the mantis had to be shipped back for service issues. Now I
am please that we chose the Stihl because it is so easy on my back. I have a
back and shoulder injury that causes almost constant pain, but I can handle
the Stihl easily. It is a very sturdy and powerful machine, and I have even
used it to break sod, although the grass runners tend to wrap around the
tines. But I have read that the tines can be sharpened so that they cut the
runners and roots rather than wrap them. On pre-cultivated ground, the Stihl
is a dream.

Elise
