Hey I was laughing, Jim, I knew all of you guys would know the difference. 
The story even said he wasn't used to eating this way.  so he wouldn't know 
he had an allergy or to carry an epi-pen.

More typical ignorance from the press!!

He died from a food allergy, NOT from it being 'too hot'.  If he was
allergic to chiles, even a mild one would have killed him (via
anaphylaxis) but then that doesn't sound as sensational.

It wasn't the fact that it was 'hot' that killed him, it was that he was
allergic.  The itching is an absolute sign of anaphylactic shock.  It's a
shame he died because this is something that is very easily reveresed
when caught at the onset.

Could just as easily from that story, change the headline to "man dies
after girlfriend scratches his back".  It'd make about as much sense as
the headline they did use.
