A couple of weeks ago Celeste and I went up to Albuquerque to do some shopping and attend the New Mexico State Fair. When I looked at the peppers I decided that I could grow them as well as those guys. Forward to the Southern New Mexico State Fair which begins tomorrow. Yesterday I went out into the garden and grabbed a few varieties that weren't completely done for the season. The result was 9 entries good for 3 1sts, 4 2nds, 2 3rds and 2 4ths. I'd feel bad about the 4ths if it wasn't for the fact that we also had the 1st, 2nd and 3rd in those categories. The winning varieties were Pequin, Dundicut and Thai Hot. Fun, and it only cost two bucks to enter. We also entered some cherry tomatoes and okra. They both got seconds. I can understand the tomatoes, but our okra looked as good as first place and was smaller. Small equals good at our house:-) Next year I'll do Red and Yellow Peter Peppers. They were too far past their prime this year. Dave TLCC
