Perhaps that is what is wrong with the cactus-mix plants.  We had a fair 
amount of rain this spring, and it pretty much washes right through the 
cactus-mix.

What do you think about the slow-release pellets like the ones miracle 
grow sells?

While we are on the subject of fertilizer,  I read that habs in 
particular can use some calcium.  Non of the fertilizers I've read list 
any calcium.  Is there a good place to get some calcium to add?
