Here in Maryland there are 3' of snow on the ground, it's 25F, deer are
tipping over dead in the woods from starvation, and birds are freezing to
death. It's supposed to snow again tomorrow. Humph!

I'm hearing it, the bird calls are changing to the springtime calls, never
mind the foot of snow on the ground.
Down in the basement, in a mouse-proof metal tin, several small bags of
seeds sit and wait, reeking of red habs.
