Just got off the phone with Calvin and we had a very long and really pleasant conversation. It is the first time we have had such a long talk for quite a while. His wife and three daughters are all well, one has just made him a grandpa!! Told him he had a long row to hoe before he caught up with me with 14 grandkids 6 greats and 2 in the ovens! For all who were aware of the problem that caused Calvin to quit making powdered chilies, he has now, several years later been able to eat tomatoes and peppers! In moderation, if he over indulges in jals, he suffers for it! We discussed the new "Calvins" powder, and I am taking the liberty of forwarding the email from Tom, giving the amounts of various peppers. I will advise the list of his response to the amounts. As the use of "Calvins" powder on whatever is produced, he is honored to have that designation, but he said also that if if is a bad product, he would be very sad. For which I agree with him! Knowing Calvin for as long as I have, and the many phone calls we shared back and forth over many years, and knowing his Christian principles, he would indeed be sad were the product not be up to his standard. So, having said all that, now the OLD guy can relax! Cheers, Doug in BC
