Well, it sounded promising anyway. We got there (the Sugarena at the county fairgrounds) around 1:00 and we must have been early because several booths were not yet open. We found one hot sauce vendor, and one bistro table with a Tabasco umbrella, and that was it. A few other vendors sold clothing or jewelry, but nothing chile or sauce related. There was no chile bling to be seen, no banners or posters,

This in New Iberia, Louisiana? Maybe I should have taken a hint when we ate lunch at Prejean's:

Good Cajun food and music, and hot sauce on each table - Tabasco and their house sauce, not very hot and way too salty. My conversation with the waitrtess went something like this:

"What's your hottest hot sauce?" (shouting over live zydeco music)

"You mean like a hot sauce?"

"Yes."

"We have Tabasco and we have our own." (points to caddy on table)

"OK, thanks."

I got a shrimp and spinach salad, quite good, and I want to steal their seasoning for the shrimp, it was nice.
