Peter, Once the plants have grown plenty of foliage, and are using a lot of water in summertime, they will suck it out of the tray in a day. If the water stands more than a day, then it may need some aeration with some aquarium bubblers. Or it can be recirculated from bottom to top with a bubbler-water lift tube, to prevent root rot. Remember, when you get some fruit established, to cut back a little on watering to increase flavor. Some say stressing (partial wilt- in midday sun) will also raise the pungency. Down south, my plants in 5-gallon pots will wilt mid-day, but recover by evening. But they have to be watered at least every other day without any water reservoir. The deep-rooted plants in the ground with smaller leaves usually don't wilt. ------------- Thanks Bob. I'm heading out now to get soil and larger containers. I'll see what I can rig up to go underneath. I am worried about over watering, but I guess it isn't too much of a problem if the drainage is good. Correct me if I'm wrong. Peter
