Well we went down to Le Esperaza in Santa Cruz and went crazy buying
various mexican goodies that we can't get elsewhere.

Got dried guajillos, dried pasillas (pass off as anchos when the poblano
anchos are out of stock) dried arbol chiles, dried chipotles....these are
all in a care package for Myron, to be sent Tuesday. Though we got enough
of the dried chipotles for ourselves as well. Oh man though chewy are
those EVER good!

Found some interesting "Mexican condiments": Adobo, Mole (we'll *see* if
that's any good, a good mole is hard to find!) and a condiment called
Pipian. now the first two I'm vaguely familiar with but has anyone here
used pipian? It's got pumpkin seeds, soybean oil, crackers, sesame seeds,
peanuts, chiles, salt and "natural flavors" whatever that means. These are
all condiments by Dona Maria, from the Herdez Corporation.

We also got some nopalitos (pickled prickly pear) masa harina, chipotles
con adobo in cans (four cans)
SInce the mexican market is not too far, we can always get the chipotles
con adobo and stuff again later.
Though I may just head down to watsonville one day and see if they have a
wider selection (watsonville is where a lot of farming goes on so we have a
large Mexican population... also stories of the Chupacabra! Ooooooh! <g>)

oh and roasted pumpkin seeds.... I think they are called Peppitas :)

Now we just gotta figure out what we are gonna make ;)

I found out that our New Leaf natural food market carries mesquite beans,
which are more flavorful then mesquite charcoal and less harmful on the
environment (Mesquite is about to be wiped off the face of the earth from
the mesquite charcoal business). You just soak them in water before you
through them on the charcoals you are going to roast whatever on.

Have a Hot and Spicy fourth! And *don't* drive down to Santa Cruz on a
holiday! Highway 17 is backed up for 25 miles!

YECH! glad we know the back ways :)

Realize that life is a situation comedy that will never be cancelled. A
laugh track has been provided, and the reason why we are put in the
material world is to get more material. Have a good laughsitive twice a
day, and that will ensure regularhilarity.
