Fellow ChDs:

Eastern mole
Scalopus aquaticus

Habitat: Moist sandy loam; lawns, fields, meadows, hardwood forests; avoids
extremely dry soils.

Food: Primarily earthworms. Also eats soil insects and some vegetable matter.
Vegetation is known to comprise a small portion of their diet. However,
...one star nosed mole was noted to consume 1850 earthworms, three mice, one
frog, and two large grubs in 14 days!
