......Kewl, got into work this morning and low and behold, a brown lunch
bag full of habs is sitting on my desk!

Seems the gal downstairs in our cash office is somewhat of a chile-head and
was making pickles and pickled veggies and was given habs by someone to put
in them. She is not used to these, made up a batch of pickles and put in a
half a hab in each jar. One jar didn't seal so she sampled the pickles.
Yelp! She sez that after only a day or so, the pickles picked up so much
heat her lips burned for hours.....afraid of the rest of the batch once
they sit for months! So she sez to me, "do you have a use for big 'ole
bunch of habs"? "Who, me"? Yeah, cuz they will only rot as they are too
hot she sez. SURE!!!!!! So here they are, on my desk. I did give a
little baggie (of habs, stop it Rael and others who may have traded other
things, of course I have only heard of other things) to my boss who is
quite a chile-head in her own right....she is Asian and cooks some great
stuff and goes on business trips with me and we hit all kinds of great
restaurants.

I told the gals that I would dehydrate some and grind with a mix of other
peppers so they could enjoy some of the donated pods as well as making up
some Jamacian Jerk paste. I know, I know, I will run the risk that this
gal will *like* the stuff and never dump her excess peppers on me but hey,
gotta spread the word.....and peppers.

Ain't life great?

Oh, and for all of you talking about dehydrating, if'n you have tomatoes,
dry some of them. Sun dried maters are outrageous to buy but wonderful to
do at home. I grow the sweet million or super 100 variety of the cherry
tomatoes and cut them into rings and dry. Some I season with spices, others
I leave plain. Wonderful in pizza crust or on top, in breads, tossed into
soups, right outta the bag (sweet!) or for that dehydrated soup mix for the
Y2K box!

Oh, and all this stuff from one of our newer members who is oblivious to
the wonderfulness of this list, will hopefully catch on or fade away. But
to the rest of you who have been around awhile, I love ya all, this is a
great list and I look forward to reading it daily.
