I care because the email that I received was just verbal garbage. I
believe it was a threat. I ask that forwarded it to Michael Bowers
and I plan to chat with Yahoo. I work in Silicon Valley and if
necessary I will walk over to Yahoo and discuss this person's account
and how he is using it to harress people.
Of great concern to most people is the question: do you confront this
behavior worried that it will ramp up to something worse or should
you let it go hoping to defuse the situation. There probably isn't a
day that goes by that we don't have the occasion to deal with behavior
that bullies, harrasses or is violent to us. Groundrules either
formal and stated or informal and accepted govern us and when people
trample on those groundrules all of us are affected as a group or a
community.
I believe that Roy Stiel is over the boundaries of this list and most
email ISPs and that Doug has a point that he could come back as Little
Red Riding Hood or Darth Vader or a turnip. But of course if he comes
back as a goundhawg, we know how best to handle or deal with that!
