I just posted this Chile Riddle in my newsletter "Chile News & Views"
and my subscribers are having a blast with it so I thought you C-Headers
would as well. I'm giving away 4 Free bottles of our Hot Sauce to the
winners. With more than 4 winners I'll put all Chileheads with correct
answers in a random drawing to select them. Send your answer to

A farmer leaves home to go to the market with some Chiles to sell.
There are 3 toll bridges on the way from his farm to the market.
When he comes to the first bridge, the toll collector says "I
want half your Chiles plus 1/2 a Chile", which the farmer gives him.
When he comes to the second bridge, the toll collector says "I
want half your Chiles plus 1/2 a Chile", which the farmer gives him.
When he comes to the 3rd bridge, the toll collector says "I want
half your Chiles plus 1/2 a Chile", which the farmer gives him.
After crossing the 3rd bridge, the farmer has no Chiles left. The
question is 'How many Chiles did he have when he left his farm'?
Again, with more than 4 correct answers We'll do a random selection for
the winners. I hope you do better than I did but me and algebra never
got along.
