Been lurking here for ages...
Apart from the many North African restaurants, a good spot in Paris is the
Rue de Belleville. Many Asian restaurants. In particular a very good
Laotian one where the food is HOT. (Hopefully it's still open, it was last
year). For hot (and weird) titbits, try the African shops in Chateau-Rouge.
For unusual Asian supplies, Tang Freres in Rue d'Ivry is hard to beat.
