Ah such an interesting subject-rice-favorite rice-any rice is okay? Hummmm
me thinks wars have been fought over such remarks.
Spending a great deal of my life over THE bowl of rice in various
countries-Burma, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Cambodia, Indonesia,
Philippines, Korea, Japan, China, Taiwan, Italy, Spain, France, Turkey,
Persia, etc. oh dear each has a special rice--- theirs that they count the
best---and yes it is. In Thailand I have experienced no fewer than a dozen
completely different varieties. It is much like our beloved chile--the
differences!
Viva la difference.
Sticky rice in Thailand is steamed in a bamboo hand-woven cone over steaming
water--is there any better? I could name many and depending on the situation
each is best cooked in a special perfect way in that location.
A million varieties of chile prepared various ways over a different perfectly
cooked rice. I must try them all.
