Ginny, George said one of the reasons he preferred a ceramic
counter top was because he could set a hot pot directly down on it.
If he has to lay out a cloth to prevent sliding, then his advantage
has been negated, for with a formica counter, he could always
have either a ceramic or a wooden carving board stationary in place.
I have both.
